SMS Terms and Conditions

These SMS Terms and Conditions govern text messages sent by or on behalf of Metta House of Hopes and Dreams, LLC. By opting in to receive text messages, you agree to these terms. These terms supplement our Website Privacy Notice and do not replace any clinical consent, Notice of Privacy Practices, or authorization required by law.

Program Description

Metta House may use text messaging for non-marketing communications concerning service inquiries, intake steps, appointment scheduling and reminders, program or office updates, and care coordination. Messages are informational and are not a substitute for professional evaluation, treatment, or emergency assistance.

Consent to Receive Messages

You may opt in through a website form to receive SMS from Metta House of Hopes and Dreams, LLC. By providing a mobile telephone number and consenting, you authorize  Metta House of Hopes and Dreams, LLC and its communications service providers to send text messages to that number. Consent is voluntary and is not a condition of purchasing or receiving treatment or other services.

You represent that you are the subscriber or customary user of the mobile number provided and that you are authorized to consent to messages at that number. If your number changes or is reassigned, please notify us promptly.

Message Frequency and Charges

Message frequency varies based on your interactions, appointments, intake status, and care coordination needs. Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless plan. Metta House does not charge a separate fee for text messages.

Opting Out

You may cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP to a message from Metta House. You may receive one final message confirming the opt-out. After opting out, you may still receive communications through other methods when permitted by law. To begin receiving text messages again, you must provide new consent.

Privacy and Confidentiality

Our Website Privacy Notice explains how we handle information associated with text messaging. Mobile opt-in information and consent will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Standard SMS text messaging may not be encrypted and may be visible to anyone with access to your device or wireless account. Avoid sending highly sensitive clinical information by text. Metta House may limit the information included in text messages to protect your privacy.

Do not use text messaging for emergencies, urgent medical or behavioral health needs, or crisis support. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a medical emergency, call 911. For mental health, suicide, or substance use crisis support in the United States, call or text 988.

Delivery and Availability

Message delivery is subject to wireless network availability and is not guaranteed. Wireless carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages. Metta House may suspend or end the texting program, change the sending number, or modify these terms as permitted by law. If the sending number changes, a prior opt-out request may not automatically apply to the new number; contact us if you continue receiving unwanted messages.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use text messaging to send unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, deceptive, or harmful content; transmit malicious code; impersonate another person; or interfere with our communications systems. We may restrict texting when needed to protect clients, staff, systems, or legal obligations.

No Medical Advice or Provider Relationship Through the Website

Website content and general text communications are provided for informational and administrative purposes. They do not create a clinician-client relationship and are not medical advice. A treatment relationship begins only through Metta House’s established intake, consent, and admission processes.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Continued participation after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
